ASTRO BIOBEST OMEGA 3 YOGOURT WINS BEST NEW PRODUCT AWARD

TORONTO – (March 15, 2007) – Parmalat Canada is pleased to announce that ASTRO BioBest Omega 3 Yogourt has captured a “2007 Best New Product Award” in the Yogourt category in a consumer survey conducted by BrandSpark International. In addition to taking top honours for yogourt, ASTRO BioBest ranked third overall in the survey’s Food category.

“This is an impressive triumph for Astro BioBest which competed against the best foods in the industry,” said Steve Hutchinson, Portfolio Brand Manager, Cultured Products “We knew this was a fantastic product from the start and we’re thrilled that ASTRO BioBest is getting such great reviews.”

ASTRO BioBest Omega 3 Yogourt was launched in February 2005, and has been excelling in the dairy market ever since. It is a probiotic yogourt that is a source of omega-3 and includes vitamins B2 and B12. The yogourt’s active probiotic cultures, A and B, aid in digestion and promote a healthy intestinal tract. One 113 g serving contains 0.3 g of omega-3 fatty acids from flaxseed oil, and is only 100 calories. The product is low in saturated fats, free of trans fats and low cholesterol – making it a good consumer choice to support cardiovascular health. This ASTRO product meets the criteria for the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Health Check program.

Adds Hutchinson, “We believe that Parmalat takes healthy yogourt to the next level. We developed this product in response to Canadian’s desire for a delicious and convenient way to help them start the day off right. And we’re delighted with the industry and consumer response.”

ASTRO BioBest Omega 3 Yogourt is available to consumers across Canada in five flavours: peach, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and cherry. The product is sold in 650 g tubs and 12x113 g multipacks.
