PARMALAT CANADA WINS BIG AT 2006 ROYAL AGRICULTURAL WINTER FAIR AND BRITISH EMPIRE CHEESE SHOW
TORONTO – (December 7, 2006) – Parmalat Canada is pleased to announce that several of its products won top honours at the 2006 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair’s Royal Dairy Products Show and the British Empire Cheese Show.

Royal Agricultural Winter Fair
Parmalat excelled in every class of the Cheddar Cheese category by winning the Grand Champion award for Balderson Stilton and the Reserve Champion ranking for Balderson Old Cheddar among others. All cheddars were produced at Parmalat’s Winchester plant. Judges awarded points for flavour, texture, closeness, colour and finish. Judging was conducted by graders from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
Parmalat also triumphed in the Variety Cheese category in a number of classes, including first place in the firm class for Monterey Jack produced at the Winchester plant, and it placed well with Racolli Mozzarella in the pasta filata class produced at the Victoriaville plant. Judges awarded points for flavour, body and spreadability, body and texture, finish, colour, appearance, salt and packaging.
The Royal Agricultural Winter Dairy Products Competition recognizes excellence in the production of Canadian cheese and butter.
